Hi, I’m Bryce.

For those who knew me in high school, you know writing was a big part of my life. After I finished my freshman year at Mizzou, I kind of lost it. I stop writing, save for a dead-end piece here and there.

Recently, I’ve been feeling inspired and I’ve started to write some very short stories. Microfiction, if you want to get snooty. Anyway, these pieces are primarily about people who I’ve met, people watched, or have just seen around. (Around is the name of the blog… get it?)

Anyway, I was going to wait to compile these stories into a collection and then maybe send it out to publishers for fun. Now, I realize it probably won’t get published in anyway. That fact alone wasn’t enough to get me to put my stories on the Internet for all to see.

But my mom is. This is a Christmas present for my mom, and maybe for myself too. She’s always ranting and raving about me and my writing and it truly means a lot that she believes in me so much. At the same time, I know she’d love if I actually shared what I wrote.

And I think it’s time. I’m going to try to publish at least one story a week on here until I finish the collection of stories that would make up a printed “Around,” which would have more stories and some other little touches. Until then, enjoy.
